Hello from Nashville, TN! We are now home and preparing for our next ministry tour. I haven’t had a chance to add all of July’s dates to the new calendar yet. But they should be up hopefully by the end of the week. We will be going to IN, OH, MI, IL, IA, MN, WI, MO, KS, TX, and AR. Please keep us in prayer, as we have a lot of ground to cover in the next month and a half.
Speaking of the ‘new’ calendar… We also have a Brand New Website up! The new design is inspired from the title track of my latest CD, “Dangerous Prayer.” Go take a look at:www.KathleenCarnali.com !!
We are in the process of switching over to a new mailing list provider. As you know, we send out an email newsletter once a month letting you know all that is going on with us, and the work of the ministry. Well, this new system will help us get to know you more. You can add information about yourself like your birthday, mailing address, etc… This new provider has some awesome new features that will allow us to keep better contact in the future. For instance, if you add your cell phone#, we can text message you when we are in your area for an event or concert, etc… Pretty cool huh? : )
I am not sure if you heard about the recent pole taken by MSNBC about faith and tolerance in America. It shows that about 57 percent of evangelical church attendees say they believe that ‘many religions’ can lead to eternal life. It goes on to mention other startling statistics as well. I don’t know how accurate these poles are, or if the reality is better or worse than it claims. But it does remind me once again, that the spreading of the saving Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ must be a central part of our walk and witness in this world. It is obvious that there is much confusion about the very foundation on which our faith stands. The bible teaches us that eternal life does not come through a certain religion, paying your tithe, being the best person you can be, feeding the poor, etc… It is only through Jesus Christ who shed his blood for the sins of the world. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
To fully understand the Gospel and why it is the Good News, we must first realize that we all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. The Bible says that the penalty for sin is death and that unrighteousness and corruption cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. But God so loved us enough to allow Jesus, a sinless and perfect man, to sacrificially suffer persecution, bare the sins of the world upon him, and die in our place to be our atonement for sin. Why? So the price for our sins would be paid for and we may be reconciled back to the father. We now have peace through the blood of his cross.
(20) “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself… (21) And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled (22) In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblamable and unreproveable in his sight: (23) If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven…” (Colossians 1: 20-23)
We live in a time where evil is called good and good is called evil. Serving God with ones life and following after purity and holiness is laughed at or seen as a ridiculous thought. We are seeing the true Gospel, which is fully centered upon Jesus Christ, being turned into a self-focused gospel to fit one’s own ideas, needs, or desires. God would not have us to be ignorant of these things as it states in 2 Timothy chapter 3:
(1) “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, (4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; (5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
How do we have a form of godliness yet ‘deny the power’ of it?? The Bible says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for ‘it is the power of God’ unto salvation to every one that believeth.” (Rom. 1:16) We must never forget that the power unto salvation is the Gospel of Christ. May it continually be upon our lips! It is the very thing that we have been called to go and tell the world about. Not necessarily because it will fix or change this world, but so people will come into repentance and be ready for the next.
(1) “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (2) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” – Jesus
(John 14:1-3)
Why is this so important? “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7)
May we know and be certain of what we believe.
(1) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you ‘the gospel’ which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; (2) By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. (3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; (4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day…” (1 Corinthians 15) Amen!
I love you and hope to see you soon!
In Christ alone,
~Kathleen
