“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.” -Proverbs 16:9
This whole month we have felt like we’ve been driving on a supernatural highway of divine providence. God has been steering and directing us with every expected and unexpected turn. It began with hurricane Irma heading toward Florida. We had gotten as far south as Orlando, when we realized that our September tour was about to change dramatically. We headed back north to Atlanta, Georgia to wait out the storm, when amazingly enough, some last minute recording time opened up. I was able to record three more songs for the upcoming CD with producer and brother in Christ, Scotty Wilbanks, from the band Third Day. From there, God opened up doors in North Carolina to do “Live” worship recordings. I sat at an Ibach F-III Grand Piano and poured my heart out before the Lord, singing and playing in adoration and praise. Not only did God perfectly pre-ordain this time, but he also deeply connected our hearts in relationship there. I believe that we haven’t even begun to see the abundant fruit that is going to come through this amazing time and experience that the Lord conceived.
Also over the past few weeks, new songs have been born that are some of the most healing, compelling, and impacting songs that I have had the privilege of penning while in the Lord’s presence. These are truly exciting days. It’s ironic to think that the Lord used a series of storms to rearrange our schedule and put us in the perfect place for what he had planned. This is the hand of God. His ways are everlasting. Have you ever worried about whether or not you are living in the center of God’s will, or concerned that you could miss what he has for you? I think we have all been in that place from time to time. The key to this struggle is revealed to us in the first half of Proverbs 3:6… “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” So often, we put our focus on figuring out our path. But rather, the scripture teaches us to prioritize acknowledging Jesus Christ our Lord in everything we do and in who we are. It is then that we will find ourselves walking out God’s perfect will and exactly in the place he wants us to be.
I love you so very much…
And hope our paths cross soon!
In Christ forever,
~Kathleen
